Do I have to pay in advance?
Yes. We require a 50% deposit to begin web design process and final payment before website is made ‘active’. We accept the following forms of payment: cheque, bank transfer, VISA, Mastercard.
What about maintenance of my website?
Minor changes, such as new phone number, address, minor text alterations will be provided for free. More time consuming updates will be charged on a per hour basis (A$55 per hour). However, before we do any updates, we will advise you of the time we anticipate these changes will take and provide you with a quote. Your website can also have content management software included so you can update some sections yourself.
Can I have applications on my website?
Adding scripted application such as shopping carts, booking systems, affiliate applications, chat forums and other interactive applications are not included in web design packages and incur additional costs. If you require these, please contact us for a comprehensive quote.
How long will it take for my site to be ‘live’?
Most website design has a minimum timeframe of 6 to 8 weeks from the time we receive your completed Web Design Brief, text and other relevant content. Your quote will include a more specific timeframe.
What happens if I don't keep to the timeframe?
Design of your website is booked according to available time. If you don't keep to the timeframe, your site may not be completed by the agreed date.
How do I start the process?

Once you have accepted the quote, a 50% deposit is required to continue the process

You will be sent a Web Design Brief document that you can fill in electronically. This includes questions to help you identify what you need from your website and will serve as a planning document for us. If required, a face-to-face or over-the-phone meeting can be arranged to discuss particular issues, ideas, etc.
4.
You will need to send us any marketing materials for your business (eg business card, letterhead, brochures, etc) so we can maintain your business branding and image.
5.
You will need to supply the text for your web pages in as final form as possible. If you need assistance to write your content, we can refer you.
6.
Send through links to websites you like (with comments about what aspects you like) as well as any photos or colour schemes you want included.
What can I do about web hosting?
Shel Design offers competitive web hosting packages and set-up is free if you choose Shel Design as your web host. A set-up fee will be charged for sites hosted elsewhere.
I already have a website but would like to have it hosted with Shel Design. Is this possible?
Yes. You can sign up to any Shel Design hosting package whether or not we design your site for you. Go to Web Hosting for more information about hosting packages.
How do I register a Domain Name?
